* Drawing for school. i am doing a series of drawings (probably traditional) for the greek play antigone. here are two sisters, ismene and antigone, who just had an argument. antigone is surely going to die, which is why there is a raven there. :nod:

* HB pencil, A4 format.

* hair was fun to do :love:

Oh wooooow....that hair looks AWESOME, girl!! (both individuals, I mean!) For the one in the foreground, (Ismene?), It's very crisp, detailed, and natural-looking, with just enough strays to add some realism! In the background (Antigone, I assume), I love that flowy, wispy movement!! (not to mention I've always been partial to brunettes! ^^; )

Next to the hair, their clothes are feeling a little sketchy, yet. I think when you do hair as well as you've done on the two women, it kind of ups the standard for everything else, so keep that in mind! ;) With the clothes, see if you can eliminate all the lines. What I mean is, make every line that is currently there, either become the edge of a shadow, or the edge of a highlight in a fold of fabric. In a contour drawing, lines are perfect to express folds or wrinkles. But I think overall this picture is aiming for realism, not "illustrative".

Definitely nice with the vignettes, though (however you spell it)! See if you can apply that to the woman in the background, too, now. Where the figure is dark, make the background lighter right at that edge, and vice versa. That's an excellent way to get rid of the outline, or "cartoony" look. (not saying yours looks cartoony at all, but often that's what a dark contour can communicate)

o.o sorry that got long.

thank you :aww: hair i probably spent longest at (yes, that girl in the front is ismene :)) so im really glad you like it. and i see what you mean with the clothes, thanks for mentioning...i wanted to make them flowing and silk-like, but that didnt really work out :XD:

Pam: Why do you need a plan? If you want to be with someone, you just be with them.

Alex: Don't say that unless you mean it. Because I will turn this world upside down to get back to you.
